The Leesu FemPower Initiative is designed to empower young women in the film and creative industry by giving them the skills, platform, and resources to tell their own stories. It focuses on amplifying the voices of girls and women, enabling them to create films and documentaries that reflect real-life experiences and address issues like gender inequality, SRHR, and gender-based violence.
Through the initiative, participants receive capacity-building, mentorship, and sometimes production grants, helping them develop storytelling and filmmaking skills while using their work as a tool for advocacy and social change.
It’s also a platform for visibility and dialogue—with outputs like film screenings and festivals that bring together young creators, partners, and communities to spark conversations on issues affecting girls and young women.

We are the leading force in youth-led advocacy, service delivery, and innovation, driving impactful solutions in Uganda’s SRHR landscape. Our interventions are youth-driven, research-backed, and scalable, ensuring sustainable progress in improving the well-being of young people.
