iKON Young Filmmakers Fellowship

The iKON Young Filmmakers Fellowship is a talent development and storytelling program that nurtures emerging filmmakers to create impactful films around real social issues affecting young people. It brings together young creatives, equips them with hands-on training, mentorship, and funding, and supports them to produce short films that drive awareness and social change.

Fellows go through masterclasses and one-on-one mentorship, then receive support (including grants) to produce short films, often focused on themes like SRHR, gender, climate, and youth challenges. These films are later showcased to audiences and platforms, amplifying young voices and sparking important conversations in communities.

At its core, the fellowship is about using film as a tool for advocacy, storytelling, and social transformation, while building the next generation of Uganda’s creative industry.
